Smithsonian in Bandera County !

We are 1 of 7 areas in Texas chosen to be part of the Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit

Busy-Birding is honored to be associated with Medina's own River Oaks Courts which is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. In fact, after our April 12th, 2nd Saturday Nature talk, there will be a CELEBRATION to accompany the installation of their shiny new roadside history marker.

This great 14-minute Story Keping video was made a couple of years ago to celebrate our local history. Check it out !

The Smithsonian exhibit won't be here until June but lots of local preparations are already underway. Posters, maps and gatherings to celebrate our rich history. And yes, there is something about Medina which has quite a wealth of nonagenarian and even Centenarians (90 and 100 year-olds) to help us recall the distant past.
