Boot Camps
These 2-day workshops are ideal for Master Naturalists, T.O.W.N, new property owners and any groups seeking team-building and camaraderie. What about a truly unique bachelor(ette) gathering?
Our main concern while Nurturing Your Love for Nature is to ensure we our offerings meet your groups's needs.
Therefore, we don't have a fixed dates, locations or agendas. Rather we listed the below as suggested options.
Call us and let's put a plan together!
WHAT : Topics
Technically it's 'field-work' but in actually it's 'field-FUN'! Half the day will be spent in the field making with our own eyes and ears and then recording and identifying them with words and pictures on paper and digital (camera, phone). We'll also use mobile apps such Merlin, eBird and iNat/Seek to record and identify our finds.
The other half of the day will be hands-on workshops confirming those IDs and sharing them via the citizen science communities. The capabilities at either eBird.org or iNaturalist.org both warrant a full workshop of their own. We'll dig as deep as the group wishes into those and add presentations from our 2nd Saturday Nature talks as well.
To ensure all participants can continue to apply these materials after our time together, bring your OWN laptop, mobile phone, camera etc. to the Boot Camp.
____________
WHERE : Lodging
While lodging is not required to participate in a Boot Camp, it will make the early start times and evening activities (owls, moth lights) easier...and think of all the camaraderie you'd miss out on. After all, it's more Adult Summer Camp than Boot Camp! We have 3 different hosts each a bit different in not only location but offerings.
