What is the City Nature Challenge ?

It's an attempt to catalog all living things in Planet Earth.

The City Nature Challenge is a friendly annual competition to see which area can catalog the most observations, species and participants. Through the awesome efforts of Citizen Scientists such as yourself, San Antonio Metro Area had dominated the competition not only in Texas, or the US but the ENTIRE FREE WORLD. But we cannot do it without your help so ....

Come learn how YOU and your FAMILY, as an individual or a team can help us retain our National Champions title. We’ll discuss Citizen Science, the iNaturalist online community, and the free mobile apps iNaturalist and Seek. After the talk, we’ll move outside to collect observations. We’ll provide any help needed with the mobile apps. To participate with this hands-on portion, please have the iNaturalist or Seek mobile app already installed on your device, or simply bring any camera or cell phone.
