Involved in walks at Lost Maples since 2012
Although it might be hard to choose an ABSOLUTE FAVORITE place, Lost Maples is definitely a strong candidate.
As of August 2024, according to eBird.org, Lost Maples State Natural Area has almost 3,500 checklists from 2350 observers which adds up to 264 species of birds. Pretty impressive but besides the numbers - it's just a great place to spend the day. With more visits than I can count, strolling along on my own or leading tours, there is always a special find or two every time!
